The fundamental "mission" of the Communist Party's propaganda machine has become to stir up enmity and intolerance, to mislead people, former MP Arman Tatoyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"For the CP elite, this way of working has become a guarantee of remaining in power and a disease that destroys our society and state.
Such propaganda, specific to an authoritarian state, is dangerous both for stability within the country and for interstate relations.
The relations with any state, especially the submission of an alliance request, require the maximum and real realization of the interests of Armenia in the relations with that state. Every agreement or solution must be strengthened with concrete mechanisms operating on the ground. All this must be properly explained to the public.
Being completely in favor of the development of Armenian-American relations, today's studies prove that the CP contributes to the public and international distorted perception of yesterday's event with its propaganda and manipulates the content of Armenian-American relations to the detriment of RA interests.
According to that, instead of real diplomacy, CP propaganda of enmity and intolerance against the official ally connected by historical, economic and other threads - Russia or any country in general, as well as deepening of tension in relations.
All this despite the fact that, during the period of its power, the CP deepened the economic ties with the Russian Federation and EAEU by introducing concrete mechanisms operating "on the ground" or by strengthening the existing ones.
Under these conditions, such propaganda and activities of the Communist Party organically contradict the state interests of the Republic of Armenia.
In order not to allow manipulations by the CP, I specially emphasize my fundamental belief: for the security and progress of Armenia, it should be governed by the supremacy of [real] democracy and the rule of law, the protection of human rights and national values," he wrote.
