Ukraine, Slovakia planning to introduce joint border controls to curb Covid-19

Ukraine and Slovakia have agreed to cooperate to facilitate border crossings and introduce joint Covid border controls.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated this at a joint press conference with his Slovak counterpart Ivan Korčok in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We will also work to facilitate border crossings and introduce joint controls at border crossings," Kuleba said.

According to him, this year it is planned to hold a business forum with the participation of Ukrainian and Slovak companies under the auspices of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries. In addition, there are serious projects in the energy sector.

In turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Ivan Korčok said his country is interested in developing business relations with Ukraine.

“We are very interested that Slovak partners, who want to invest and work in Ukraine, understand the reliability of Ukrainian law and its application, that they have no problems in the future, because it is important when you want to invest in another country," Korčok said.

On January 15, the Slovak Republic changed the rules of entry into the country. In February, Slovakia introduced a 14-day quarantine for people arriving from other countries.
