The Cabinet of Ministers intends to divide the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection into two ministries, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"There are several ideas. The first is the possibility of separating the agrarian direction from the Ministry of Economy into a relevant ministry... The second is splitting the Ministry of Energy and Ecology. This idea is already on the verge of planning and beginning of implementation. Because unfortunately, it has not produced the effect we expected,” Shmyhal said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

The prime minister also stressed the need for strengthening the industrial sector. According to him, the government is looking for relevant solutions, experts and the best way for implementing this.

As reported, the Cabinet of Minister created the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine in 2019 by uniting the Ministry of Environmental Protection (existed since December 9, 2010) and the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry (existed since December 9, 2010).
