Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yulia Sokolovska met with representatives of UNICEF social projects to discuss social issues amid the coronavirus outbreak.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to resolve a set of social issues related to the consequences of the spread of COVID-19 in Ukraine, the president’s press service reports.

In particular, the key focus was on social support and patronage of the most socially vulnerable groups of population, as well as the support for family-based care and children who returned to biological families.

The participants of the meeting noted that raising the status of social workers working directly with families, their proper financial support and the provision of personal protective equipment are an urgent issue given the pandemic.

The implementation of social programs aimed at state support for these categories of families was also discussed.

As of the morning of March 27, Ukraine had 218 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, including five deaths. Four people recovered.
