Snacks and other products that are harmful to children's health will no longer be sold in Lviv schools.
A respective decision was made at a session of Lviv City Council on Thursday, December 26, according to the council's press service.

"Today, an electronic petition titled 'A Ban on the Sale of Snacks and Foods Harmful to Children's Health' was considered and endorsed at a session of Lviv City Council today. Fifty-one deputies voted 'for' [the petition]," the report reads.

The head of the city department of education, Zoriana Dovhanyk, said that a working group was considering the assortment of foods that can be sold in schools, as well as working out recommendations for the introduction of changes to the legislation governing the sale of such foods.

"We surveyed children and will be able to work out a road map during January to actually sell healthy food in our buffets," she said.
