"According to statistics: in 2018, 2,956 children were adopted in Ukraine, 2,567 of them were adopted by citizens of Ukraine, and 389 by foreigners. The number of adopted children in 2019 is growing with geometric progression: 1,474 children have found their home in the first half of 2019,” reads the report.

The ministry noted that the main task of the state is to ensure a decent life and rights of orphans and children deprived of parental care.

The Justice Ministry has also reminded that Ukraine marks Adoption Day on September 30 annually. The right of children to a family is enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Constitution of Ukraine, the Family Code of Ukraine, and other legal acts.
