The Ukrainian Interior Ministry is holding talks with France on the purchase of patrol boats for border guards, the ministry's press service has reported.
According to the report, this issue was discussed at a meeting between Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and French Ambassador to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins.

"The Interior Ministry is considering renewing the fleet of patrol boats of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. One of the most acceptable proposals for cooperation is a proposal from French company OCEA. The main requirement is the localization of construction and the involvement of Ukrainian manufacturers in a project to update the fleet of patrol boats," Avakov said.

The ambassador, in turn, said that France was interested in long-term cooperation with Ukraine.

He emphasized the success of a joint project to create a single aviation security and civil defense system.
