Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers proposes that the maximum deficit of Ukraine's national budget for 2020 be set at UAH 95.13 billion (US$3.8 billion).

"This is to set the maximum deficit of Ukraine's national budget at UAH 95,130,530,000, as well as the maximum deficit of the national budget's general fund at UAH 73,236,120,700 [US$2.96 billion] and the maximum deficit of the national budget's special fund at UAH 21,894,409,300 [US$884.09 million]," the relevant bill posted on the Verkhovna Rada's website said.

Under the bill, the state debt is capped at UAH 2,127,687,340,500 (US$86 billion) as of December 31, 2020. The maximum state and government-guaranteed debt is fixed at UAH 335.567 billion (US$13.6 billion). As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers suggested that the deficit of Ukraine's national budget and the public debt in 2020 be reduced to 2.09% and 46.7% of GDP, respectively.
