United States Secretary of State Michael Pompeo in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko has confirmed that the United States will continue to support reforms in Ukraine.
This was stated in a press release of the U.S. Department of State on September 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Secretary Pompeo congratulated Foreign Minister Prystaiko on his recent appointment and affirmed U.S. support for Ukraine as it advances critical reforms to tackle corruption, strengthen the rule of law, and foster an economic environment that promotes competition and investment," the statement reads.
At the same time, the Secretary expressed unwavering U.S. support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
This was the first telephone conversation between U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko.
