Constitutional Court again postpones consideration of lustration law

The Constitutional Court has again postponed the consideration of the law on government cleansing.
The relevant decision was approved at a meeting of the Grand Chamber of the Court on Tuesday, a well-informed source in court told Ukrinform.

"The issue of consideration of lustration was removed from the agenda," the interlocutor said.

As reported, on April 18, 2019, the Constitutional Court postponed the consideration of the law on government cleansing. The relevant decision was made during a meeting of the Grand Chamber.

The law on government cleansing came into force in October 2014. The document envisages that the persons holding positions subjected to lustration inspection must submit to their head, no later than on the 10th day since the start of inspection at institution, a handwritten statement of consent for conducting inspection.

In the same year, the Constitutional Court received two applications from the Supreme Court and one application from 47 MPs on the constitutionality of some provisions of the lustration law. Later, the court combined three applications into one proceeding.
