На 89-м году жизни скончался нобелевский лауреат, академик Жорес Алферов. Об этом сообщает его супругу. О причинах смерти она не рассказала.

«Интерфакс» со ссылкой на источник в медицинских кругах сообщает, что Алферов скончался после продолжительной болезни.

В ноябре 2018 года ученый попал в больницу с подозрением на инсульт.

Алферов — советский и российский физик, единственный из проживавших в России лауреатов Нобелевской премии по физике. С 1991 до 2017 год он занимал пост вице-президента РАН. В 2000 году Алферов получил Нобелевскую премию по физике за разработки в полупроводниковой технике.
